Background

Changing Fortunes Organisation (CFO) was registered as an NGO in 2007 to start to fill the need to tackle what is increasingly seen as a major gap in our social and employment scenarios – the issue of domestic workers!  What is this problem?
 

Our Vision:

A just and caring society in which the domestic service sector is characterised by mutual support between employers and employed, leading to greater household security, poverty alleviation and recognition of the domestic service sector as a real career choice.

OUR OBJECTIVE:

To foster prosperity for the domestic workers in Kenya by creating a forum through which they can be helped to improve their livelihoods as well as that of their dependants through:

  • Carrying out activities geared towards enhancing their socio-economic well being.

IMPROVING DOMESTIC WORKERS’ LIVES FOR A BETTER NATION
  • Helping the domestic workers to access both savings facilities and affordable credit for their own development and improved livelihood for themselves and their dependants.
  • To facilitate their personal and professional development to enabling them become better employees capable of carrying out their duties diligently and knowledgeably.
  • General civic education e.g. HIV AIDS, some basic financial training, among several other areas of training and self awareness.
